As the Design Director for Oracle, I led a holistic mobile-first redesign of Oracle.com, a massive web app with millions of users, tens of thousands of pages, 4,000+ products, and dozens of SaaS integrations. This digital transformation resulted in a responsive experience that increased mobile engagement by over 300%. I also established Oracle's first design system, achieved WCAG 2.1 accessibility compliance for the site, and increased design team productivity by 2x.
Oracle.com had expanded rapidly over the previous decade, outgrowing its information architecture, navigation, and usability, while lacking a critically needed mobile-friendly design. Oracle hired me to rethink the entire experience from the ground up.
I led a team of 15 designers to redesign the entirety of Oracle.com. We took a phased approach, starting with the redesign of the popular HCM product line and gradually expanding to the rest of the site. We created a new IA and navigation to organize Oracle’s 4,000+ products, all new homepage and inner page templates, overhauled site search, expanded account functionality and localization, introduced deep personalization, and built a completely new design system.
Our process included:
This digital transformation delivered a responsive, modernized site, enhanced usability, and notably increased mobile engagement by over 300%.
It also resulted in the creation of Oracle's first design system, which met WCAG 2.1 accessibility guidelines, and helped drive a 2x increase in design team productivity.
