To promote the Oracle technology behind Team USA in the World Cup, I led the creation of a unique and engaging digital experience that seamlessly combined 3D renderings, animtaion, and interactivity. From concept to delivery, I guided a multidisciplinary team of UX designers, 3D artists, researchers, developers, and animators to bring this vision to life.
In preparation for the World Cup race in 2017, we wanted to highlight the Oracle tech used behind Oracle Team USA, the defending champions of the previous two World Cup regattas.
I felt this was a great opportunity to do something innovative, and as such, conceived of novel, animated design direction that seamlessly combined 3D renderings, video, and interactivity, resulting in a truly unique and engaging experience.
From initial concept through delivery, I led a multi-disciplinary team of UX designers, 3D artists, UX researchers, front end developers, and video and animation designers to bring the vision to reality. Watch the video below to see how it all came together.

A responsive mobile and tablet experience was also created. Unfortunately, mobile browsers didn't support background videos (as used on desktop), so instead I was able to leverage the “chapter” stills from the desktop designs in a way that still delivered a unique scroll-based image revealing experience on smaller screens.
